- Besgrow Spagmoss is a natural, renewable product harvested sustainably from wetlands on the pristine West Coast of New Zealand’s South Island. Spagmoss is used extensively to grow orchids and other moisture loving plants and to sustain growing environments for plants and reptiles
- New Zealand Sphagnum moss is recognised worldwide for its premium quality and renowned for having long, strong strands, being long lasting in the pot and having excellent water holding capacity - all of which encourage strong and healthy root development
- Besgrow Spagmoss has naturally low concentrations of soluble salts, is relatively sterile and has a structure that allows it to hold up to 20 times its weight in water. These qualities make it ideal for growing ornamental flowers and providing moisture retention for a variety of garden and reptile environments
- Commonly used by commercial and hobby growers in the cultivation of various orchid species and carnivorous plants, in the florist industry, as a decorative enhancement and additive to increase water holding in other substrates. Also great for reptile bedding and assisting with young plant growth

Spagmoss Production
Deep on the West Coast of New Zealand’s South Island, water flows from the Southern Alps feeding the natural habitat of Sphagnum moss. From this pristine environment we harvest Sphagnum cristatum and Sphagnum subnitens to produce Spagmoss.
The labour intensive process begins when the moss is hand picked from swamps which are dedicated to the farming of Sphagnum moss. After being extracted from the swamp by helicopter it is transported to Coastpak where the second phase of the processing begins
