PRECAUTIONS FOR SHIPPING/HEAT PACK
We strongly advise to include a Heat Pack (available on our shop) in order to protect the plant from temperature extremes.. Any order that does NOT have a heat pack is not covered by the live plant guarantee.
If an order is received by Sunday 5pm -> the plant will ship the following Tuesday however please note that cuttings are removed from the parent plant and must dry out for a few days prior to shipping to prevent rot. Delayed shipping is to allow for plants to have the maximum shipping time without the possibility of staying in a mail system warehouse over the weekend.
WHAT THE PLANT WILL LOOK LIKE
You'll get a similar plant as the ones in the pictures. Plants are cuttings and not shipped with soil.
HOW THE PLANT WILL BE SHIPPED
This listing is for a cutting. This means the plant will not have roots but will be hardened off and ready to form roots. The plant will not be shipped with soil. When your cutting arrives please remember that it has spent a few days inside of a dark box. This can cause the plants to drop leaves and/or lose coloration. Carefully pot the plant in well draining Cactus soil and protect from direct intense sunlight until roots are established. You will know roots are established as slightly tugging on the plant will not dislodge it from the soil.
HOW THE PLANT HAS BEEN GROWN
Outdoors in the beautiful California sun! This plant will arrive ready to be planted immediately.
COLD CLIMATES - ADD HEAT PACK
We strongly advise to include a Heat Pack (available on our shop) in order to protect the plant from temperature extremes. Any order that does NOT have a heat pack is not covered by the live plant guarantee.
Plant Sizing Guide
What Size Am I Getting? Let's Break It Down.
We get it—plant sizes can be confusing. Is a “small” the size of a golf ball or a grapefruit? Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered. Below is a quick guide to help you understand what each size means when shopping our plants. Measurements refer to the plant body, not including the pot (unless noted).
Tiny
- Baby plants or starter plugs. May be rooted or freshly cut. 0.5"–1.5" wide.
- Example: Butterwort plug, small seedling
Small
- Young plant, well-rooted, 1.5"–3" wide or tall.
- Example: Aeonium cutting, sundew cluster
Medium
- Established plant, 3"–5" wide/tall. Ready for repotting or display.
- Example: 2–3 year-old cactus, flowering flytrap
Large
- Mature plant, 5"–8" wide/tall. Great for centerpieces or statement planters.
- Example: Dioscorea elephantipes, pitcher plant
XL (Collector Size)
- Rare or mature specimen, 8"+ or unusually large or sculptural in form.
- Example: Caudex giants, multi-head aeoniums
📦 Note:
- Pot sizes (if included) are listed separately on product pages.
- Some species naturally stay small—even large ones might only be a few inches wide. Check individual listings for details.
- Photos are of representative plants—your plant may vary slightly (because nature’s not into clones).
