Plant Sizing Guide
What Size Am I Getting? Let's Break It Down.
We get itâplant sizes can be confusing. Is a âsmallâ the size of a golf ball or a grapefruit? Donât worry, weâve got you covered. Below is a quick guide to help you understand what each size means when shopping our plants. Measurements refer to the plant body, not including the pot (unless noted).
Tiny
- Baby plants or starter plugs. May be rooted or freshly cut. 0.5"â1.5" wide.
- Example: Butterwort plug, small seedling
Small
- Young plant, well-rooted, 1.5"â3" wide or tall.
- Example: Aeonium cutting, sundew cluster
Medium
- Established plant, 3"â5" wide/tall. Ready for repotting or display.
- Example: 2â3 year-old cactus, flowering flytrap
Large
- Mature plant, 5"â8" wide/tall. Great for centerpieces or statement planters.
- Example: Dioscorea elephantipes, pitcher plant
XL (Collector Size)
- Rare or mature specimen, 8"+ or unusually large or sculptural in form.
- Example: Caudex giants, multi-head aeoniums
đŚ Note:
- Pot sizes (if included) are listed separately on product pages.
- Some species naturally stay smallâeven large ones might only be a few inches wide. Check individual listings for details.
- Photos are of representative plantsâyour plant may vary slightly (because natureâs not into clones).
