Drosera Spatulata – Tiny, Dewy, and Deadly (to Bugs!) ✨
Say hello to Drosera spatulata, the tiny but mighty sundew that turns fungus gnats, fruit flies, and other mini pests into a snack. With its sparkling spoon-shaped leaves covered in sticky “dew,” this adorable carnivore is part houseplant, part bug trap, and 100% awesome.
🌞 Light It Up, Sparkle Style – Loves bright light or grow lights, where it shows off its shimmery, sticky tentacles. The more light, the redder and more dramatic it gets—like a diva in full glam.
💦 Moist & Magical – Keep the soil consistently damp with distilled or rainwater only (hard water = heartbreak). This little guy is all about that bog life, so soggy is the goal.
The Gnat Problem Solver – Got fungus gnats? Not anymore. Drosera spatulata lures them in and wraps them up like a burrito of doom. It’s pest control… but cute.
🌿 Small in Size, Huge on Personality – Perfect for terrariums, windowsills, or creepy-cool plant displays, this plant is a great pick for beginners and collectors alike. It flowers easily, self-seeds, and may soon take over your heart (and a few flies).
Add this sparkly assassin to your cart—because your plants deserve a fierce little protector.
🥶 COLD WEATHER WARNING
It’s officially “Don’t Let Your Plants Die” Season.
Winter’s creeping in like an overwatered fungus gnat — and your tropicals, succulents, and carnivorous cuties are not here for the frostbite.
🔥 Plant Heat Pads are in stock
Perfect for boxes of babies in transit or giving your windowsill darlings a cozy, root-warming spa experience.
Add Drosera spatulata to your plant gang and prepare to be obsessed. Your windowsill (and your kitchen) will thank you.
Plant Sizing Guide
What Size Am I Getting? Let's Break It Down.
We get it—plant sizes can be confusing. Is a “small” the size of a golf ball or a grapefruit? Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered. Below is a quick guide to help you understand what each size means when shopping our plants. Measurements refer to the plant body, not including the pot (unless noted).
Tiny
- Baby plants or starter plugs. May be rooted or freshly cut. 0.5"–1.5" wide.
- Example: Butterwort plug, small seedling
Small
- Young plant, well-rooted, 1.5"–3" wide or tall.
- Example: Aeonium cutting, sundew cluster
Medium
- Established plant, 3"–5" wide/tall. Ready for repotting or display.
- Example: 2–3 year-old cactus, flowering flytrap
Large
- Mature plant, 5"–8" wide/tall. Great for centerpieces or statement planters.
- Example: Dioscorea elephantipes, pitcher plant
XL (Collector Size)
- Rare or mature specimen, 8"+ or unusually large or sculptural in form.
- Example: Caudex giants, multi-head aeoniums
📦 Note:
- Pot sizes (if included) are listed separately on product pages.
- Some species naturally stay small—even large ones might only be a few inches wide. Check individual listings for details.
- Photos are of representative plants—your plant may vary slightly (because nature’s not into clones).
