Carefully packed. Cushioned for the journey. Ready for your welcome.
Ordering a plant online should feel exciting—not like signing your new leafy roommate up for an extreme sport.
At Wild Wonders Oasis, we carefully pack each plant with protection suited to its needs. From sturdy boxes to snug cushioning, every layer has a job: helping your new wonder arrive healthy and ready to settle in.
Strong boxes. Precious cargo.
We use boxes stronger than average shipping boxes to help protect your plants from the bumps and handling that come with delivery.
Because whether your new arrival has delicate leaves, impressive spines, or a taste for flies, it deserves a solid traveling companion.
A packing approach as individual as your plant
A cactus and a tender little carnivore have different travel needs. We choose packaging based on the plant, which may include:
-
Plastic wrap (Saran Wrap) to secure and protect appropriate parts of the plant or its root wrapping.
-
Tissue paper wrapped around the plant for gentle protection.
-
Its planter pot, with protective packaging to help keep everything secure.
-
A plastic nursery pot with a dome for tender plants that need extra protection around their delicate growth.
Your product listing explains whether your plant ships potted, bare root, or as a cutting. The travel outfit may vary. The care we put into packing it doesn’t.
Cushioned, secured, and ready to roll—without actually rolling
We nestle plants in shredded paper to cushion them and fill empty spaces. Then we carefully tape the protected plants into the box to help prevent shifting during transit.
Think botanical seat belts. Less sliding around means better protection for the plant you’re eagerly waiting to meet.
Care comes in the box, too
Your order travels via UPS or USPS, and we include:
-
A plant care card to help you get started.
-
A QR code linking to additional care information on our website, so the next step is always easy to find.
You bring the excitement. We bring the instructions.
Your plant is home! Here’s its welcome routine.
Unpack promptly and gently
Bring your package inside soon after delivery. Carefully release the tape and remove the shipping wrap and cushioning, taking your time around leaves, roots, traps, and spines.
If your plant arrives with a humidity dome, check its care instructions for how to transition it out of that protected environment.
Arrived in a pot? Let those roots relax.
Keep your plant in its original pot for several weeks while it settles in. Wait until it has recovered and shows signs of active growth before considering a repot.
Shipping can stress the leaves and stems. Repotting immediately adds root disturbance at the very moment the rest of the plant is recovering.
We know you’ve picked out a cute pot. Let it admire that pot from a distance for now.
Arrived bare root or as a cutting? Start with the right medium.
Pot bare-root plants promptly in the growing medium recommended for that plant. For cuttings, follow the included instructions for planting or rooting right away; some need a callusing period or a specific rooting method first.
Check your care card or scan the QR code before reaching for a bag of soil. Different plants need different mixes—especially carnivorous plants, whose growing-medium requirements deserve extra attention.
Ease into the sunshine
Gradually introduce your plant to the light levels recommended for its variety as it adjusts to your home.
Even sun-loving plants need a gentle transition after traveling in a dark box. Unboxing day is not the day for a surprise sunbathing marathon.
Follow your plant’s care guide for watering, humidity, and its eventual sunny—or suitably shady—spot.
A little travel fatigue can happen
A yellowing leaf, a few dropped leaves, or a slightly rumpled appearance can happen after shipping. These changes don’t automatically mean your plant is unhealthy. Gentle handling and the right care give it the best opportunity to settle in.
Something looks more concerning? We’re here to help. Contact us within 48 hours of delivery with your order number, a description of the issue, and clear photos of the plant, packaging, and shipping label. Keep the plant and packaging while we review your concern.
