❧ Philodendron erubescens 'Pink Princess'---Pink Princess Philodendron description
🌱🌱 Intermediate "A little picky - but worth it"
Meet the Philodendron 'Pink Princess' — one of the plants that helped kick off the whole rare-houseplant collecting movement, and still one of the most requested variegated aroids around. Deep near-black leaves are marked with irregular, saturated pink variegation that can range from a modest fleck to a half-pink leaf, depending on the individual cutting.
'Pink Princess' is a hybrid cultivar of Philodendron erubescens, a fast-growing climbing vine with parentage tracing to Central and South America. Unlike many variegated plants, its pink sections hold real chlorophyll alongside the pigment, so it tends to be a bit more forgiving of the variegated portions than a pure-white (albo) variegation would be.
📦 Shipping Callout
This plant ships potted in its nursery pot. Please allow 1–2 weeks for the plant to settle in after shipping — some stress or leaf curling in the first few days is normal.
Plant Characteristics
• Deep green-to-near-black leaves with irregular pink variegation
• Fast-growing climbing vine — give it a moss pole or trellis as it matures
• Toxic to pets and humans if ingested
• Best variegation shows with bright, filtered light — too little light and new leaves grow back green
